Best Man Speeches For Wedding Checklist (continued)

3.You need to thank everyone responsible for the arrangement and making the wedding possible.
Be respectful, courteous, and display common sense. Although it would not be fair for those in your presence to think of you as being insensitive and an ingrate if you fail to do this, can you really blame them if they did. So, show them your gratitude for being fortunate enough to be part of this most joyous occasion. It must have cost some one a nice couple of dollars for you to be there, not to mention the cost of the entire wedding which probably runs into the thousands of dollars.

4.Make sure to break the ice with some warm joke that just about everyone can relate to.

If you do not want the guests to fall asleep while you speak, or just barely acknowledge your being there talking to them, you better do something to grab some attention. You need to give them a good reason for putting up with your little speech that may last two or three minutes. If you don’t do this, you risk talking to the walls while every one else is talking to each other. Is it no wonder that humorous best man toasts are such a popular choice at weddings?

They usually play that song by Karen Carpenter that includes the words “we’ve only just begun”. Are you familiar with it? Well, we have only just begun. There is a lot more to come on the subject of best man speeches for weddings.
